John
is President and Chief Investment Officer, although his primary job is to serve
clients as Portfolio Manager. While he started picking stocks in middle school,
his professional career began in 1994 managing part of the State of Wisconsin
Investment Board in the Applied Security Analysis Program (ASAP) at the
University of Wisconsin-Madison. Upon graduation with his MS in Finance, he honed
his analytical craft at Everen Securities, Salomon Smith Barney and Frye-Louis
Capital Management in Chicago. He earned his CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst)
certificate in 1998. John began his
tenure with Monarch in 2000. His
undergraduate degree is a BA in Economics from DePauw University where he was a
member of the Management Fellows Program.
He graduated Magna Cum Laude and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa.
In his spare time, he enjoys attempting to play any sport in existence, watching his daughters play their sports, traveling, gardening and volunteering. He is married to Courtney and they are members of Emmanuel Community Church.
John is fervent about serving the community through volunteering and supporting local agencies. He advocates for the homeless, helps immigrants and refugees assimilate into our culture, promotes Fort Wayne Trails, and officiates Upward basketball games. He has tutored, reads to kids, was a Big Brother, and taught ENL. He is a board member for Foellinger Foundation, serving as Treasurer. He is a graduate of the 2005 Leadership Fort Wayne class and was honored as a Forty Under 40 recipient in his younger years.
